  • 3 reasons to watch UFC Fight Night Boston. UFC Fight Night Boston will mark only the 2nd event of 2015 and already the UFC is surrounded with controversy in regards to its current light heavy weight champion Jon Jones who tested positive for Cocaine Metabolites in his pre fight drug screening. Now we can look ahead to the UFC’s biggest star of the moment (and arguably its biggest star ever) Conor McGregor who takes on what us thought to be a walk over match in Denis Siver. It isn’t just McGregor who thinks he will walk over his next foe but a high percentage of media and fans alike. The UFC has been continuously accused for giving McGregor an easy fight so they can offer him that coveted title shot later on in 2015 against long time king pin Jose Aldo. In all fairness based on McGregor’s previous UFC outings Denis Siver poses little threat to the rising Irishman. A squat and compact fighter its hard to see how he will get inside the range of McGregor who is known for his extraordinary movement. However as we have seen time and time again this is MMA and any one can get caught on any given day.

  • Donald Cerrone is fighting AGAIN
  • having only just fought and beaten rising contender Myles Jury, Donald Cerrone joked in his post fight press conference about getting put on a card in the very near future, however I don’t think even he could have imagined he would be fighting again 2 weeks later against the former Light Weight champion Benson Henderson. The original opponent Eddie Alverez (A man who Cerrone dispatched in Alverez’s debut into the UFC) came down with the flu which ultimately affected his weight so much that he was forced to withdraw from the card. Enter Donals Cerrone who has always made it very clear that he is here to fight and collect pay checks. Cerrone has fought Benson Henderson twice before in the WEC and came up short on both occasions, firstly by a decision and then by an uncharacteristic first round choke. However with clear maturity and a 6 fight winning streak Cerrone will carry a lot of momentum and confidence into the fight and having fought a 3 round war only 2 weeks prior its kind of a win win situation for him. Win or lose Donald Cerrone has just got himself even more fans and he had a hell of a lot to begin with.

  • We get to see the evolution of Uriah Hall
  • Uriah Hall will be stepping out in Boston with a 2 fight win streak behind him. Uriah is an usual prospect in the UFC. Its clear he has god given talent but it seems to be his kind natured temperament and lack of raw fighting spirit that has held him back from displaying his true potential. Dana White famously said he didn’t think Hall had what it took to be successful in the UFC and Hall was quick to reassure fans and UFC brass alike that he can dig out that fighting spirit and win fights. So far he has delivered, although neither of his previous 2 wins has been spectacular UFC Boston may be the card when we see Uriah perform like he did the The Ultimate Fighter and get a spectacular KO victory.
