Muscle tone is all about the presence of muscle and body composition. If your body fat percentage is too high your muscles won’t show through. In order to drop your body fat percentage you need to be in a calorie deficit. If you are in a calorie deficit your body will lost fat and your muscles will poke through giving a “toned” look.
Be warned however, if your calorie deficit is too high your body will tap into it’s current muscle mass more than it’s fat stores. Your daily calorie deficit should be around 10% of your total expenditure. You can use any online calculator to work out your probable daily calorie expenditure.
