James Moontasri Vs Cody Pfister

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

This will be James Moontasri’s second outing in the UFC having lost his debut vis split decision to Joe Ellenburger back in 2014 during UFC Fight Night: Swanson Vs Stephens. Moontasri boasts a 7-2 pro record overall and hails from team Black house in the USA meaning he trains with some world class fighters. With his wins coming from a mixture of submissions and TKO’s Moontasri had skills in all facets of MMA. Saturday will mark his next opportunity to get a first win in the UFC. Should he lose we may not see him in the octagon for a while

Cody Pfister will be making his octagon debut on Saturday boasting an 11-3-1 pro record. All his losses came on the trot a little earlier on in his career and being only 24 years old its clear he had matured since those losses and he is now riding a 7 fight win streak with 1 draw in the middle. He will probably be the smaller fighter on Saturday night but his athleticism might win in for him

Zach Makovsky Vs Tim Elliot

With 23 pro fights and aged 31 Makovsky has a lot of experience in the MMA game. He also holds 2 wins inside the octagon having beaten Scott Jorgensen and Josh Sampo. His last outing resulted in the loss to Jussier Formega but make no mistake Makovsky poses a threat to anyone in the flyweight division

Tim Elliot has actually been in the UFC since 2012 compiling and overall record of 3-2. His last 2 outings have resulted in 2 losses however, so this looks to be a must win for Elliot. The always intriguing flyweight division still has some way to go in terms of fan recognition in comparison to other more popular weight divisions but its fighters like Elliot who have an aggressive style who will make that happen. His losses have come at the hands of Jon Dodson, Ali Bagautinov and Joseph Benavidez who are all top 5 fly weights and have all challenged the divisions kingpin Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title. Like Formega, Elliot is an elite fighter and this fight poses a very interested match up which should produce some very entertaining action

Chas Skelly Vs Jim Alers

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

Skelly has danced 3 times in the octagon already going 3-2 having won his last 2 fights. Despite his short UFC career he already holds a UFC record for the shortest time between UFC Fights at just 13 days. Skelly found MMA when he became a training partner for TUF alumni Jonny Bedford and his wrestling pedigree has helped make the transition a smooth and successful one. Like so many other successful MMA fighters Skelly wrestled from a young age. At one point he held a wrestling record of 164-3 and went on to receive All American honours

Jim Alers holds a pro record of 13-1 including a win in the octagon against Alan Omar back in August 2014. He is known for his aggressive style and its one of the reasons he holds the moniker of “beast”. Alers considers himself as a complete MMA fighter but his BJJ skills do standout as very good. He has suggested that his up coming fight against Skelly is a great match and because both their ground skills are so good they may keep this fight on the feet and bang it out. We will find out on Saturday who will take a significant up in the competitive feather weight division

Efrain Escudero Vs Rodrigo De Lima

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

Efrain Escudero has had a very scattered career in the UFC firstly winning TUF season 8 and since recording both wins and losses which has resulted in him being released and resigned to the UFC twice. With a superb wrestling pedigree Escudero started out his pro MMA career with mostly submission wins but he also developed his striking significantly leading to a few TKO/KO victories. He has lost his last 4 fights in the UFC but only 1 since he was re signed in 2014 against Leonardo Santos. Unless he can find a way to win on Saturday night its likely he will be released for a 3rd time

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

Unlike Escudero Rodrigo De Lima has only just started his career in the UFC. His first and only fight resulted in a KO loss to Neil Magny however its clear he has a lot more to offer. At just 23 he has a bright career ahead of him if he stays focused and plays to his strengths. His BJJ pedigree will match up interestingly with Escudero’s wrestling and should the fight play out on the feet De Lime will have be very careful of Escudero’s heavy hands

Nik Lentz Vs Lavin Makashvili

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

Nik Lentz gained some media attention prior to his fight with Chad Mendes which was marketed as a fight for the next title challenger. There is no doubt he has talent and has demonstrated it many times in the octagon having fought 14 times and winning 9 of them against some very tough competition. He consistently comes in as an under dog and considering his decorated UFC career doesn’t have much recognition amongst the media and fans alike. With no shortage of confidence and a “say it how it is” attitude he is serious force to be reckoned with

UFC Henderson Vs Thatch- Prelim Fighters

Not a lot is known about Lavin Makashvili. UFC matchmaker Joe Silva and other UFC brass must see something special in him to feed him to the likes of Nik Lentz for his UFC debut. He currently holds a 6-1 pro record with TKO being his main method of victory. After running with a bad crowd in his youth he discovered MMA and took a fight on just 3 weeks notice. With a victory in that scrap he has fought ever since. He has certainly been given a big platform to make a name for himself for his UFC debut but the bookies will be backing Lentz for the win
